Successful Track Record
Acturis has already completed many successful projects, including the
following selected examples:
• Corporate and business unit strategy –
working with a global bank to design and build a general insurance business.
We helped a global to develop and implement a strategy to build a new
general insurance business leveraging on existing personal and commercial
banking relationships and transaction flows. This included detailed analysis
of existing customer relationships and transactions, design of insurance
propositions for attractive segments, design of the value chain and the
role of our client, identification and structuring of relationships with
partners, process design and implementation and technology implementation.
• Process analysis, benchmarking, redesign and improvement
– conducting a detailed analysis and benchmarking of a major broker’s
back office processes and operations on time, cost and quality dimensions.
We analysed service turnaround times by class of business and customer
segment, identified error rates by policy type and client segment and
calculated client profitability. In addition, the broker’s metrics
were benchmarked against the Acturis process performance database. The
result of this work was to identify the key areas of inefficiency and
implement appropriate improvement actions including re-pricing certain
services to clients and client segments, reengineering the mode of interaction
with insurers for certain classes of business and reorganising several
areas of the business to improve efficiency.
• E-Commerce strategy and implementation for a UK Insurer
– helping a major U.K. insurer design and deliver its Commercial
Lines eCommerce and connectivity strategy. Within the constraints of the
insurer’s existing processing systems, we designed and delivered
a process and IT solution which enables the insurer to interact with its
brokers in a structured, fully electronic, paperless manner with no re-keying
of data by the broker into multiple systems. Process turnaround times
have been slashed, re-keying errors have been eliminated and processing
costs to both broker and insurer reduced significantly.
• Process redesign and technology implementation
- Helping a major UK Financial Institution shape its commercial insurance
distribution strategy, design the processes to support the strategy and
implement the IT system to enable the new processes. Commercial insurance
premium volume has doubled in the 6 months since go live and is targeted
to grow five fold.
• Product and service design – assisting
a major company with a strong brand and wide client base shape its insurance
offering to its client base. This work included demand analysis, the design
and build of several innovative insurance products, the introduction to
- and subsequent partnership with - insurer providers, the deployment
of these products to the client base, assistance with subsequent administration
and fulfilment services. In another situation we assisted a major financial
services company with the design and development of a portfolio of innovative
commercial insurance products. These products were created to meet various
insurance needs emanating from commercial lending transactions.
