by Richard Wheeler The Richard Wheeler ColumnThe Acturis system has been up and running for a relatively short space of time - certainly compared with the Sirius' and Sectornets of the world - so growth is a key factor at this stage of its development. And it is growing - now with 34 sites across 24 separate broking organisations, with over 650 users of its ASP based system. Early users included regional giants such as Smart & Cook, Bland Bankart and Layton Blackham and to these have been added various other medium and smaller sized brokers. Acturis expects over 1,000 people using the system by the year end, knowing what it has in the pipeline. The figures have been boosted by several brokers who are members of The Broker Network - seven have recently gone live following the decision of the network to adopt Acturis as the preferred IT supplier. Use of the system is not compulsory, although the strong preference to Acturis is clear. Recent talk regarding The Broker Network buying up brokers promises greater sales for Acturis. In return, Acturis have a serious commitment to Broker Network members and offer a special deal on the migration of data. Then there is the latest news whereby Acturis is to change over from InsurE-com to Brokersure.co.uk for its personal lines quotes system. Acturis assures me that the change from InsurE-com is essentially a mutual agreement between the parties - no question of E-com being 'ditched'. Indeed, InsurE-com did much of the running. Having said that, the new link with Brokersure.co.uk is expected to bring benefits including more full cycle EDI and common policy wordings useful for the typical Acturis commercially-orientated user with accommodation personal lines business. - Brokers' Monthly |
