Heath Lambert to roll out Acturis system to UK regional network

Heath Lambert has teamed up with software house Acturis in a bid to expand its capacity and maintain independence, Insurance Age can reveal.
Jim Lorimer, group chief information officer at Heath Lambert, said: "We are committed to staying independent and our new partnership with Acturis is clear evidence that we are prepared to invest in our future. Acturis offers us greater connectivity with our key insurer partners, tools to manage compliance issues and finger-tip reporting of our key performance indicators."
Heath Lambert's small to medium-sized enterprise team in the West Midlands will be using Acturis to trade with its key commercial insurers in both open-market business and schemes.
The broker also confirmed that its entire network of regional offices would then adopt the system on a planned monthly basis, until the 250-strong team was using it to trade with its partner insurers across the UK. "The trigger point for us choosing Acturis was the market being ready for insurer/broker integration. We wanted to ensure a commitment from the market," Mr Lorimer added.
Health Lambert said it would use Acturis for its packaged commercial network, and then seek to increase its schemes and affinity capacity.
"The Acturis system will help our commercial network to extend and enhance its performance on the schemes side, giving us a robust and reliable platform," explained Mr Lorimer.
"In simple terms, we are aiming to achieve better integration with our markets; we wanted a platform that could run schemes in order to improve our business interests in the sector, in addition to our capacity and client service. It will help us to distribute products in the branch network more efficiently and effectively."
Graham Barr, managing director at Heath Lambert National, said: "We are very clear about how we need to drive the growth of our UK business, and the Acturis platform assists us greatly with our plans to scale up our ability to handle and trade more business in this market."
