Software provider Acturis has confirmed it has been selected by Halifax Bank of Scotland to provide a full commercial lines broking solution for its insurance division as predicted by Post Magazine (PM, 23 May, p1).
HBOS head of commercial insurance Jerry White said: "We have very aggressive expansion plans and see Acturis as providing the right solution for the broker of the future".
Acturis co-chief executive David McDonald added: "Acturis is extremely proud to have been selected by HBOS to be its technology partner in commercial insurance. We are very excited by the prospect of working with HBOS to create a new efficient broking operation.
Our common goal is to reduce processing costs at the same time as providing faster and better customer service".
HBOS was formed in September 2001 and aims to increase its commercial business 10-fold over the next two years. Acturis is currently finishing off the development of its commercial insurance platform for the broking market, which it expects to launch later in the year.
