The Position

ProductWriter is an insurance industry development toolset which is broadly used across the insurance industry to develop the core rating and rules that define products. ProductWriter developers need the ability to develop high quality code which efficient and fast regardless of the number of rating factors or the mathematical complexity of rating algorithms. The products range from simple add-ons to highly complex multi-sectional combined insurance products across all lines of business. ProductWriter developers gain insight into the core rating that is defined by underwriters from the largest insurers in the UK industry, such as Aviva, Allianz, Axa, Chartis, LV=, RSA and others. ProductWriter developers enjoy a close relationship with the Technical Business Analysts as complex product requirements frequently need discussion and interaction to ensure the customer has the best possible solution.

Acturis ProductWriter developers are quick to be involved in detailed product builds and a range of updates to the existing library of close to 100 products. Due to the nature of the workload for ProductWriter developers, it is sometimes necessary to involve ProductWriter developers in other projects to expand their skill set. This generally involves supporting webMethods code that is used by the Acturis Product Development Team.

  • Logical problem solving and coding skills and willingness to learn
  • Enthusiasm for integrating systems regardless of message formats, integration processes and toolsets.
  • Attention to detail and managing delivery to stringent time scales
