The Company

Acturis was founded in 2000 and provides a market leading, internet cloud-based application service for the UK insurance industry. The company is led by David McDonald and Theo Duchen – two former McKinsey partners - and employs 160 colleagues based in Holborn, Central London. The Position

As a Web Developer at Acturis you will:

• Work with Business Analysts to understand and analyse client needs
• Design, build and maintain the in-house web platform
• Integrate third party components into the solution
• Optimise and re-factor existing code
• Investigate and fix defects and other issues

You will be given early responsibility for discrete projects and will receive quarterly feedback.

Candidate profile

The successful candidate will have:

• Aptitude for applying technology and structured problem solving
• At least a 2.1 in a technical subject – ideally BSc/MSc in Comp Sci - and good A Levels
• An ability to work in teams and learn quickly
• An ability to consider business implications and aesthetics of design decisions.

Specific skills required

• Experience with one or more of the following:
• C#
• C++
• Java
• Passion for new technologies, especially web technologies
• First class organisational skills
• Ability to work under-pressure and to tight deadlines
• Clear verbal and written communication
• Strong all-round technical abilities
