The Acturis System
The system offers leading edge functionality across all its integrated modules. Most importantly of all, however, it provides our customers with a platform to develop massive efficiency savings through fuller integration with insurers, service providers and clients/brokers.

Module Brief Description
Contact Management The system allows brokers to manage relationships with multiple contacts at a third party company, be it a client, a loss adjuster, or perhaps even a sub-agent or introducer. It also allows underwriting agencies to manage their broker panels.
Policy Administration Through using structured risk capture, rather than free format text, brokers & underwriters can improve service and reduce costs through greater use of autorating and real-time XML integration with the end-insurer.
Claims Management A leading claims module allows the broker/underwriters to manage claims activity seamlessly, as well as capturing tailored information specific to individual client risk management needs.
Task Manager The system automatically prompts handlers to perform tasks tailored to a customer's own customer service charter, as well as allowing workflow to be monitored and reallocated between handlers.
Accounting Acturis offers a full back office accounting solution, as well as leading reporting functionality to assist in the month end and FSA reporting requirements.
Report Centre Brokers and underwriters are able to instantly access the information vital in running their businesses effectively, without the need to gather and manipulate data manually.
Underwriting Agencies Acturis allows underwriting agencies and MGAs to manage their brokers, as well as policy administration and full accounting/reporting.
Healthcare Healthcare brokers can also enjoy the benefits of internal policy processing efficiency and connectivity with leading healthcare insurers.
Bespoke scheme creation Schemes can quickly and inexpensively be created, offering full autorating, documentation and reporting functionality to improve communication between client, broker and insurer.
Quote & Buy Brokers and underwriters are able to integrate their websites with the Acturis system to create a "zero touch" trading tool. This quote & buy tool is available across all auto-rated classes of business, including personal lines, SME commercial and bespoke schemes.

Contact Management

The system allows brokers to manage relationships with multiple contacts at a third party company, be it a client, loss adjuster, sub-agent or introducer, or perhaps even a third party service provider or insurer. Underwriters can also manage all their brokers on the Acturis system, and link them easily to the relevant clients/policies.

Personal details, such as contact address, e-mail address, phone numbers and personal information such as their interests can be collected and accessed instantly.

Every detail is captured in a set field, ensuring that information is stored in a structured manner and can therefore be used to run reports. Thus if a loss adjuster needed to be added to an individual claim, the system would automatically pick up the relevant details from the contacts module and deposit it directly into the claims module.

Policy Administration

Acturis uses structured risk capture on all sum insured and cover fields and each of these fields will be linked to customer-specific templates so that client schedules and insurer quotation requests are automatically pre-filled with the correct details.

Drop-down fields (as shown in the screen to the left) are used to ensure consistency of data input, a fact vital in developing connectivity with insurers, these lists are based on Polaris/ABI lists when available. Free format fields are also included to capture additional information over and above the normal level of risk detail.

Claims Management

A full claims module is integrated within the system, which allows the capture all the usual claims details such as type of claim, details, insurer, date of loss etc. Again structured data capture is used to provide the platform for future connectivity with insurer systems so that reserve changes and settlement details could be exchanged.

In addition, the claims system is powered by the same task management system as the overall system, and it will issue prompts to the handler to chase up on a claim until such time as the claim is settled. Claims service can therefore be monitored and improved.

Functionality also exists within the system to provide corporate customers with client-specific reporting fields to allow the capture of risk management information required by that individual customer.

Task Manager

Task management within the system allows our customers to create manual tasks and allocate them to users, as well as being able to upload emails/faxes/post as tasks within Acturis.

You can also create bespoke workflow processes within Acturis that auto-create tasks for a user.

Tasks also be monitored closely by supervisors, and reallocated en bloc to avoid slow response times and bottlenecks within the operation.

Reporting on task management within the Acturis Report Centre is also available.

Accounting

The accounts module is powered by FlexiInternational Software, whose major international insurance customers include Philadelphia Insurance, Mercury Insurance, Gallagher Bassett and Mutual of America.

The system has been re-engineered to tailor it exactly for the UK insurance market, and issues such as easing insurer accounts reconciliation and month end accounting have been at the forefront of our thinking.

The system includes full nominal, client, insurer and purchase ledgers and management information vital to the running of the business, which can be extracted at a touch of a button through the Acturis Report Centre.

Client money is also a major issue post FSA, and screens like this one help our customers maintain the correct level of funds in their client account.

Report Centre

The Acturis system uses MicroStrategy reporting functionality in its Report Centre - powerful reporting software used by major financial services corporations such as AXA and Deutsche Bank.

Acturis offers its customers access to over 300 pre-built reports, with also the ability to create their own reports in an intuitive, easy to use way.

All reports can be easily exported out of Acturis into Excel/CSV etc.

This report shows a broker or underwriting agency how much revenue it has transacted with one insurer in a given period. The detail includes policy count, premium and income per class of business.

Underwriting Business

Acturis allows underwriting agencies and MGAs to transact business with their brokers in a seamless way. Brokers can also sub-broke business in the same manner.

Underwriting agencies can not only use Acturis as its distribution mechanism, but also for its broker management, client/policy administration, accounting and reporting processes.

Broker generated business can also be transacted on an underwriter’s website, with a direct link into Acturis to allow "zero touch" business placement.

Within an underwriting agency’s Acturis system, this screen shows the relevant policies available to a given placing broker. It also shows the amount of commission given to that broker for the different classes of business placed, differentiated sometimes by business event, to allow for different commissions for new business, MTAs and renewals as an example.

Healthcare

Acturis has dedicated risk capture screens to allow efficient trading of healthcare business, such as Corporate PMI in this example. Documents such as insurer submission documents and client risk registers can be created at a touch of a button as a result of such an approach.

Acturis is working with several leading healthcare brokers and insurers to create an integrated trading standard to enable business to be placed without rekeying between broker and insurer.

Creation of bespoke schemes

Acturis can create schemes in 2 ways; firstly through its bespoke Product Builder technology. Secondly, by using the industry standard Product Writer methodology, or by hosting schemes created by others using Product Writer.

The Acturis system allows our customers to quickly deploy products, detailing any questions to be asked, the policy rules and the rating methodology that will drive the premium calculation. Bespoke scheme documentation and insurer bordereaux can also be created.

The example screen shows the design of some data capture questions for a specified contents section within Product Builder.

Acturis allows schemes to be brought to market more quickly and less expensively than previously possible.

Quote & Buy

This screen shows the tradesman package quotes that have been produced online for a small building client. Not only has the Acturis system been updated in real-time, but the insurer systems are automatically populated with the quote details and ultimately the policy record once the case is bound. Commercial business can genuinely be placed on a zero touch basis.
