05 July 2002
Acturis today proudly announced that its revolutionary new broker back office system, designed for commercial business-dominated brokers of all sizes, went live on the 1st July 2002 with Bland Bankart and Smart & Cook.
Both Bland Bankart and Smart & Cook have switched off their previous broking systems and are 100% reliant on the Acturis system in all offices that have gone live.
The launch marks the end of 2 years of thorough development and testing and in excess of £10m investment into the product.
Co-CEO at Acturis, David McDonald, commented "We are delighted to announce the system has been launched on our promised delivery date.
I would like to thank our broker development partners who have helped us enormously in the development of the product, as well as all of our staff who have moved mountains to ensure the system was delivered on time.
In our opinion it is vital that we continue to keep our promises to our customers and the launch date is a significant milestone in the onwards development of the Acturis offering".
Bland Bankart IT Director, Neil Emerson stated, "We wanted a system that supports our business objectives by making life better for our customers and employees, whilst also helping us manage our business more effectively.
Having looked at the systems available in the market, we felt Acturis was the only option which met all of our needs".
Paul Meehan, Managing Director at Smart & Cook, added, "We have been working side by side as partners with Acturis on the development of the platform. The platform's functionality offers a step change in the way we operate and prepares us for a new, more demanding environment.
Acturis has been extremely supportive and helpful in the go live process as demonstrated by their excellent training and support, and willingness to 'go the extra mile' in terms of delivering the system on the very day it was promised".
Theo Duchen, co-CEO at Acturis concluded, "At Acturis we see this as the starting point. The commercial market is extremely inefficient with 35% of premiums being swallowed up by the cost of distribution.
Service, if anything, is worsening and the recent announcements about insurance company branch closures can only make things worse in the short-term.
Acturis is developing a connected commercial marketplace, reducing duplication of effort between brokers and insurers, shortening the service cycle and improving the way brokers can manage their business.
We believe that brokers trading on the Acturis system will have a significant competitive advantage going forward".
