Systems house Acturis continues to grow its ASP user base, now getting on for 30 locations countrywide.
One of Acturis's original backers is Smart & Cook who have moved from piloting the ASP system at Leeds and Harrogate and are in the course of extending use across the rest of their offices.
Three smaller brokers have also implemented the Acturis ASP solution, so the appeal is not just to regional giants.
In fact Theo Duchen of Acturis believes the centralised ASP set up is perfect for the smaller organisation - it takes a lot of technical issues away.
He also believes that ASP is well suited to the burgeoning number of networks set-ups, who benefit from the availability of aggregated information.
So, Acturis has apparently succeeded where some others have failed in what is essentially a very crowded market. Theo Duchen puts this down to one important factor - Acturis has concentrated on low publicity delivery, rather than the 'spin' you so often see.
When it first launched a couple of years back Acturis did make a big thing about taking costs out of the commercial equation by using better technology.
Theo Duchen now reports that brokers are able to trade electronically through the Acturis system with three of four insurers including AXA and Allianz for a range of commercial products such as fleet as well as the simpler package stuff.
There is the option of full integration with the InsurE-com quote system for personal lines quotes, plus links to Close Brothers for commercial premium finance.
