Acturis, the leading SaaS provider for general insurance and Sompo, a leading global provider of commercial and consumer property, casualty and specialty insurance and reinsurance, have announced the launch of Sompo’s Marine Cargo Insurance proposition on the Acturis platform.
The launch provides brokers with a streamlined way to obtain quotes and, where applicable and subject to underwriting criteria, bind eligible Marine Cargo risks digitally, while continuing to benefit from the specialist expertise and dedicated support of Sompo’s underwriting team.
By combining digital trading convenience with specialist underwriting expertise, the launch is intended to make it easier for brokers to access Marine Cargo cover for eligible risks and respond quickly to client needs.
We’re delighted to welcome Sompo to Acturis and to work with them to bring Marine Cargo trading capability to the platform. The addition not only broadens our insurer panel but also enhances our Cargo proposition, providing brokers with greater choice and access to specialist cover for eligible risks. By expanding the range of specialist trading solutions available through Acturis, we’re helping brokers access a wider variety of cargo products while benefiting from a faster, more intuitive route to market. This ultimately helps brokers deliver greater value and responsiveness to their clients.
Jenny Wainwright, Insurer Account Manager, Acturis
Brokers are increasingly looking for seamless digital access to specialist insurance solutions, without compromising the expertise and support that complex risks may require. Making our Marine Cargo proposition available on Acturis allows brokers to trade with us more easily while continuing to benefit from the knowledge and responsiveness of our Cargo team. It is another example of how Sompo is delivering the ‘Ease of Expertise’ and investing in the ways brokers want to do business.
Jon Clare, Head of Retail Marine, Cargo and Transport & Logistics, UK Regions, Sompo
Designed to support a broad range of businesses, Sompo’s Marine Cargo proposition combines specialist underwriting expertise, responsive claims support and risk management capabilities with a service-led approach. The offering provides a broad range of cover options for goods in transit, with commission arrangements and policy benefits available where applicable.
Coverage is subject to underwriting approval, eligibility criteria and the terms, conditions, limits and exclusions of the applicable policy.
The launch underscores both organisations’ commitment to improving access to specialised insurance solutions through enhanced digital trading capabilities, helping brokers place business more efficiently while maintaining confidence in expert-led underwriting.
