Acturis Launches Integrated Insurer Webchat

Acturis are proud to announce the launch of integrated insurer webchat launched from the Acturis application.

Following a small scale pilot with RSA the service has now been expanded to include Allianz, Aviva, AXA and NIG as part of the imarket Live Chat initiative. Other insurers are expected to participate in the near future. Acturis are engaging with insurers to build this functionality into as many products as possible.

The functionality will allow Acturis brokers to communicate efficiently with underwriters without leaving the Acturis application, answering questions about the risk and the product. This functionality is similar to the Web Chat functionality available on the insurer extranets.

Jeff McCracken, Sales & Marketing Director at Acturis said, “Our brokers have been telling us one of the reasons for continued use of insurer extranets is the real time interaction with the underwriters through webchat. The need to rekey risks multiple times clearly makes this an inefficient solution for brokers. By introducing this functionality into the Acturis application we are once again leading the way in providing efficiency for our users, whilst assisting insurers in improving the service they can offer to brokers. On the first day of release we saw over 150 webchat sessions across all of our partner insurers”

Deepak Soni, Director of Commercial Intermediary, AXA added, “Live chat is an important step in the evolution of service for insurers and brokers using software house platforms.

From an insurer and broker perspective live chat will help increase engagement for those using this channel to obtain quotes for their customers and, over time, could lead to more brokers utilising this channel. Live chat will play a part in reducing errors, and improve efficiency for brokers and insurers.

We have been using live chat on our own extranet for more than a year and we know, from broker feedback that have found it very useful across the entire quote and buy lifecycle”.

Juliet Williams, Group SME Director at Circle insurance also added, “Integrated Web chat is the next step change in e-trade and it will drive my team to use integrated e-trade more extensively rather than extranets and having to double key.

Webchat is effectively a game changer for brokers as the improved efficiencies driven by this will enable brokers to both reduce errors, which are a fact of life with double keying, and give us more time to be able to spend with the client to give them the best service and advice.

A broker’s role is to know their client inside out and to be able to offer them bespoke advice pertinent to their business, any efficiencies brought about by technology only helps this process.

Huge congratulations to Acturis and Polaris for making this revolutionary step in making a brokers life easier. My hope is that all insurers support webchat and realise it for the timesaving tool that it is.

Insurers should embrace this facility fully to enable it to work to its best ability.”
